6x9s - No Rear speakers

Post by Breeze »

Hey, I got some 6x9s off of ebay, but my car (98\' Breeze) doesnt have any rear speakers or wires, so i think im gonna have to run some wires from my headunit to the back.

If I get some speaker wire, what connectors will i need to go from headunit and then to speakers?

cheers

the 6x9s should have some speaker wire with them so just cut off the connctor off and attach the speaker wire however you want

Awesome cheers mate, I was looking in the little panel closer to the front of the car.

So if I just get a meter or so of speaker wire from halfords and a little terminal block thingy i can just connect the wire to the existing loom and then to the speakers?

Cheers

I could only find this spare connector in the little panel.

I dont think this is the right one (its on the passenger side) so do you think i might have to take off the whole side of the boot trim to find it?

Cheers

Hmmm that connector doesn\'t look right IMO...

was it just hanging loose, or was it connected to the rear speaker?

As far as I know, all 3-door corsa\'s had rear speakers, even the merits!

Nope, no speakers in mine, i pushed my hand up and felt the underside of the speaker grill.
Dont know if previous owner took them out, cant see why tho.

the pictured connector wasnt attatched to anything, just taped into the loom.

If i could get all of the eleccy tape of the loom, id have a better chance of finding the right cable!

I \'would\' say test it & wire a speaker up to try it out, but if it is the wrong one you could risk damaging the speaker or the car!

If its not though, it isn\'t too hard a job running some cables back under the carpet for new speakers! Only problem will be getting the front passenger or drivers side seat out so you can lift the carpet to run the cable under!

Yes before I found the speaker wire on the drivers side, that was my original plan.

I want to know though if I did that, would I only have to wire up the passenger side from the front (since thats the side with the funny connector) and use the existing speaker wire for the drvier side, and also where can I get those bullet connectors what I would need to plug the cable into the back of my headunit and how do you attatch the bullets to the cable?

Cheers

Ive just discovered 2 aux input sockets on my headunit labeled rear right and rear left, can these be utilised to plug in my speakers and if so, what cabling and connectors will i need?

cheers
