Need abit of Help regarding wheels!?!?!

Post by Ben »

Hi Guys

Rite ive been told that 17\'s will go on. But obviously when i lower them, the arches will need to be done, anyone know what they actually do to the arches and whether its possible to do it yourself?

Since im not made of maney i\'d rather to some of it myself!

Cheers

if you do it have the arches rolled and make sure you use some seal on them or they will rot really quickly, if you do it have it done right or it will cost you a fortune in future. i made that mistake and i had to have new rear arches fitted. not cheap.

why did you put spacers on if they were gonna rub?
Just take em off and it should be fine, the 5 doors have smaller rear arches than the 3 door tho so am not entirely sure

i have got terrible problems with my 16s on standard corsa suspension.

it all depends on the width and the offset of the wheel. on the older corsa b (94-95) the corsa s arches dont flair out as much as the later models manufactured, hence this problem.

im gettin my arched rolled in the next few days. Its about £50 an arch, but i\'m sure u know body shop that get u discount. Mine are being done for £20 an arch :) however, if your considering doing it yourself, make sure u know wot your doing. if u dont get it right, it wont be an immediate problem, but u will leave the arch a target for rust. And this will create further problems.

hope this helps.

well im gonna get my bodykit, get my springs and get it all done at the same place at the same time. i dont really know whether to lower it or not cos it just gonna cause more problems. what do you all think? http://www.corsa-b.co.uk/album_page.php?pic_id=16

i would personally lower it coz it does sit pretty high on 17s

remember lowering the car isnt just about style, it greatly improves your handling.

however, if u live in an area like i do, where there are speed bumps down every road, u dont wanna be scraping your front splitter etc on every speed bump.

consider 35-45mm springs
