Which Chip & which plugs C20let

Post by Blash32 »

Hi guys,

I am posting this for advice on behalf of a computer illiterate pal lol :-)

Scenario - Looking for a strong 300BHP from the C20Let spec so far is as follows.
3 inch downpipe into 3 inch exhaust system - New addition
piper cam and verniers
Front mount intercooler
fuel pressure regulator - New addition
Forge actuator - New addition
Walbro fuel pump - New addition
VXR injectors - NEW addition
ARP bolts
Quaife Differential - New Addition
standard turbo

Problem, heading to nurburg ring in 4 weeks time and wanted to upgrade a few more bits. want a reliable 300bhp for the jorney

Need spark plugs been told best to get RS turbo ones but cant seem to find any reasoning as to which ones and any part numbers, are they irridium? is there any benefit for using magnacore leads too?

Phase chips - Which one??? are they specific to the ECU or do you just take ECU apart and fit? what issues have any of you come across? Fuelling?
Also prices tend to vary but each advertised phase chip is quite vague and doesnt stipulate which ECU Regal offer a chip for 295, my local specialist whos as much use as a choclate fire guard can do one for 190 and the ones off Ebay are around 100 quid. im looking for stage 3 phase chip to run approx 300 bhp. what are you using at the moment and is anyone selling one?

also can someone tell me what the write ups mean when they advise overboost, is this what you can turn the boost up to?

Should I be doing anything else prior to the journey

Any help greatly appreciated.

thanks

You are best to get it done but putting the on
A rolling road to get the best out of them as they
Only come with a base map then it's a case of then
Mapping it to the mods on engine and driving style

You'll want phase 3.5, phase will be at its absolute limit at 300

And as coupe said best set up is at a rolling road with a custom chip, I wouldn't really bother any of them super chips, they are good but can't touch a custom chip

Overboost is when boost pressure spikes higher than its been set, as in you set it to boost @25psi, Overboost would be if hit 28psi it's not a good thing and I've never seen it advertiseed

Vegas on thecorsa took his 350 brake clet to the ring last year so be worth getting in touch with him

Spark plug and leads don't matter a huge amount, as long as there a top brand
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway
