Sos anyone from Newcastle area need help asap

Post by mbonner02 »

So tried to fit my momo steering wheel and as I was taking the bolt of towards the top it felt funny and got stuff again then when I've went to put it back on the bolt won't go on the threads on the column look dodgy at the top end wtf do I do. Part of me thinks that it was like that and whoever put the gsi wheel on managed to force it on because unscrewing it at the top dealt funny but I've had no luck and now I've got no steering wheel? Anyone from Newcastle area able to help?

I'm sure you said you were an engineer [emoji14]

Re thread the bolt and nut with a tap and dye and it'll be good as new
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

I am but this is tricky poo haha the bolt looks okay but the threads on the actual steering column look collapsed at the top. Is there any way to force it on?

Sorted ! Tried putting the wheel on then using the socket with bruit force and it caught a thread. Was a bit hard at first then once the nut was on it went loose then tightened up at the bottom. Keemon!

Next time thread out the nut but leave it on so when you shock the wheel off you dont hit the threads [emoji106]
