Headlights cutting car out

Hi all I was driving along the other day & ran out of petrol when my mate got to me with fuel I had to bump start the car so got home & charged it a bit off his car. Went for more fuel & when I went to set off with the headlights on the engine was cutting out & there was 0 power. If I flick the lights on whilst driving all power goes and the engine dies. Got battery tested and it was ok what could my problem be?

Thanks for reading
All the best Brendan

I would get it checked

Put a volt meter across the battery with engine on put headlights on heaters and heated rear window you should see 14-14,5volts

Popped into the garage on way home from work he put volt meter on & said alternator was fine & the battery was tested yesterday. Google says the earth point so that will be next port of call.
