Quick answer - no

But if you get a picky cop that decides to check your license and insurance he can do you for no insurance impound your car and I think you get a ban aswell as a fine
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

I know a couple people that did the same, you can't change insurance company though otherwise they'll check but if you just accept the renewal the insurance company won't check

This is obviously just speculation

So if i did ring up a different company for a policy they will be able to tell that i have points. But if i renew my policy with my current broker they wont check :)

Pretty sure they won't, when mine renewed it did it all automatically, if you speak to them, they might ask 'is there any changes that might affect the policy'.

If you don't declare them it can void your insurance

Often, insurers will ask for a copy of your driving licence when you take out a policy & also at the time of any accident. If someone had an accident & hadn't declared convictions, the insurance company could refuse to pay out on a claim and the person could be liable for any damage especially to a third party.

The moral is - always declare convictions, modifications, etc! (We are fine with them anyway :) )
