Dom's new drift toy (mk1 mx5)

Post by Domwhitex »

There she was sitting neglected on the driveway, i asked the owner if i could buy her back at christmas but she was sold to a family in wales but 6 months passed and she still wasn't moved so i went round again and they said i could buy the car for £300 and they will refund the last buyers

So i did, the paintwork was awful (forgot to take pictures) there was mold and thick grime down the side of the car, it was distguisting so the first thing i needed to do was give it a good clean inside and out

And as i had used the corsa battery to turn her over to get it onto the truck then off again i went and bought another and as its an import they wanted £120 for an oem one from japan they had in stock!

f**k that! Got one i think it was from a mini its the same dimensions just taller and to fit in here

And she fired into life!

Drove her to the end of the street and back last night! These things do have some kick in them for a 1.6, im lucky as its an import 1989 so its the 115bhp model, with power steering, vicious LSD, air con, its brilliant

This will be a slow project over the next year so the corsa wont really be getting any goodies till this is done

Ripped the old soft top off on the frame so i can eventually get a new one and fit it but don't need that for now

Stripped and cleaned the insides a proper deep clean! Shes come up lovely! Just need to jet wash all the poo out of the seats and the insides all done!

Also got the water that was in the hood drain holes on the passenger side out!

Next is a good service! Which will be done throughout next week!

To sort the peeling paint!
