1st Car Arden Blue B

Post by ArdenKenny »

New to here but anyway here I am.
Bought my 1st corsa(s) for just shy of £300 back in december and took a few pics as I was doing some work to it so I thought i'd put them on here and update as I go on.

Its only a 1.0l for insurance cheapest I can find is £1200 (19yrs old not passed test yet got it on the 27th of this month! 3 points and obviously 0 NCB with 3 named drivers) if anyone knows any cheaper let me know :) Anyway, time for the pics!

So thats how I bought it, completely standard, front end crash damage (and a damaged boot) and poo grey plastic.

So decided to spray the grey plastic bits back black heres before and after OH also debadged the rear but that boot has gone now;
Image

Arch trims sprayed and donar car in background

Bumper masked up ready

Bumper After
Image

Finished product after a day and a half spraying and swapping bits
Image

Then got some LED sidelight bulbs but ended up opting for the SMD version (much brighter but didnt get a pic) this is with LED ones
Image

Another pic of mine shiny oh and smoked side repeaters if you didnt notice
(I know its got a few scrapes here and there but thats getting addressed when i send it in for colour coding)
AND YES that is a genuine Nissan Sunny GTI-R in the background rotting away with genuine 28k miles on the clock (for sale aswell! needs clutch)
Image

Quick pic of my mates lupo wheels on the car, not too bad but needed lows to get the full effect
Image

Tried some old alloys on that i managed to dig out, abit big?
Image

Then lowered 40mm front & rear and tried an alloy on
Image

Lowered on steelies still (only just fit does sag alot more now)
Image

Slightly more recent pic with an alloy on

But i also got this in the deal (old pics after i robbed it for bits its a 1.4 8v rotten chassis)
Image

Spec list is now (without pics cos my iPhones f**k but will try get some)
Colour coded boot lock surround with opel badge and de-badged boot (looks smart)
Straight through centre pipe
Powerflow backbox
Vectra B Smoked interior Light with SMD's to suit
SMD dash lights with tigra needles
SMD Reg light
Induction kit (getting removed its too loud when throttle open)
Aero flat wiper blades
Blanked off EGR

To do list:
Smoked depo's (on way)
Smoked rear lights(bought but recieved broken so trying to get another pair or MHWs)
Colour code bumpers/arches unless a cheap GSI kit comes up
Get rid of all scratches
Lower 60mm rear
Uprated Shocks
Upper strutbrace (front)
Upper srutbrace (rear)
Boot spoiler
Punto Rear wiper arm
Tigra coin tray
Tigra scuttle
Powder coat alloys anthracite grey and lower profile tyres
White clocks
Underseal the thing
Corsa C rear disc conversion

Then wait and buy a fresh motor and stick a silly powered lump in this and have it as a sleeper :)

Opinions, rate/hate all that garbage, cheers for looking :)

Also anyone selling any of the bits in the to-do list let me know :)

Welcome along mate :)

Car looks good and plans sound great, should look awesome when it's done

Them alloys look to big though, there sticking out
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Looks well man.. Good job on the bumpers btw. Just wondering how do you spray them? Isit the usual sand, primer, spray and lacquer?

Yeah, I just sanded it down with I think it was p800 (not sure) untill majority of orange peel effect was gone, then a coat of high-build primer and sanded that down with p2000, then another coat of primer and sanded again then paint and lacquer etc, although i wish id of just waited got abit more brass and just gone for colour coding

Cheers, Ive looked into getting the offset reduced, but I can only go in by 5mm-7mm so I went to an engineering firm and they quoted me £15 a wheel to shave 5mm off dont know if its worth it or to get some different alloys?

So driving test happened today, I passed with 1 minor!
Although when it came to insurance I had to opt for blackbox insurance so all modifications coming off and back to standard :( but will be putting them back on after they fit the box
