Wish my garage was as tidy as that

Think you can buy the key off ebay or think vauxhall still have them in stock, but long nose pillers work just as well tbh
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

So plans tomorrow.

Go to halfords for knifing putty
Go to b+q for new lightbulbs for garage
Go to vaux dealer for centre cap bolt + new door pins
Fix centre console
Start wheels

Im going to be a busy man on my one day off :(

Realised its friday today so wont have the wheels ready by tomorrow. Not in any rush so may as well take my time with them

Right today ive been a busy man and just sat down

Woke up 11am and off i went to halfords. My dad came with me as he needed a jack and wheel brace for his car ( he got sold a car without a jack and tyre iron so i had to drive back from Middlesbrough before to change his wheel)

In halfords i bought :
Metal putty for alloys
Autoglym bug + tar remover for debadge
A big bucket for when im cleaning

Got home and sorted my centre console out so now have blue leds in mfd
Image

I have a problem. Mfd lights up only when there is no lights on. If i switch headlights on it goes off :/ anyone know?

Anyways i have masked up my wheels and have three wheels primed on the backs need to do the other one and the fronts during the week before work which should be fun as im on nightshift :(

Pictures i took :

Top tip - mark where your weights were with a paint pen. I used tippex as its all i had. That way you can refit them when painted and there still balanced

Image

The start of masking wheel number 1

Here i have taped the weight to the wheel so i know what weight came from what wheel

Back masked up

Tyre properly covered

First layer of primer. Did three altogether

This is how dark it was when i was just finishing up to go home

As i wanted to keep going i had headlights on car on as garage lights broke. Went to start the car to move it and the whirr of death :( dead battery lol

I went to grab my phone to use as torch to remove battery. Phone died the instant i picked it up.

So removed battery by feel. Lol didnt take too long luckily. Battery is now on charge and im dead on the couch :D

Looking well :) what colour you spraying them?

There the wrong weights for an alloy wheel, there for steel wheels, if you put them back on theyl scratch your freashly painted alloys which would suck

They were already on so figured they were the right ones :/. How much does it cost to get wheels balanced?

Yeah it happens alot tbh theres nothing wrong with using them part from they scratch thevwheel

5 euro a wheel we charge but thats dealer garage, a tyre fitter is normally cheaper and you only need the fronts balanced
