im 18 and ive got a 1.0L 12v Corsa, my first year was £2200 when i was 17 on a mulitcar quote with admiral. ive now got my renewal from them which is £1000. i wouldnt mind paying that as its a big reduction but is there any other insurance companies that would do a better price? i know i could ring around but i can see that it would end up being a day of giving details over and over on the phone which is very tedious. If any of you guys know of any insurance companies that would do a better price id be very greatfull :)

i went on go compare last week, stated that i hate 1 YNC and the cheapest was £2200 which is what i payed in my first year :L i think i might just have to ring around or call Admiral to try and barter a bit with them to knock the price down

i just re-newed my insurance there and went with admiral multi car.
they seen ive been driving for 8 years but was unable to gain any no claims due to always being 2nd driver, so they gave me 2 years complimentary no claims.

im now main driver on the Corsa 1999 1.2 and its coming in £325 for the year fully comp. gf is 2nd driver
im also insured on the Toyota Auris 2008 1.4 as 2nd driver and its coming in around £445 fully comp. gf is main driver

Thats total of £770 per year.

you lucky sod!! i guess it will be that low seeing as your a bit older than me. im only 18 with 1 years no claims. its only bugging me because my mate; who had 1YNC with a 1.1 106 with same amount of mods as me, got his renewal for the same and now hes got a 1.8 honda accord s-type vtec for isnured £2000 and hes 18. i was hoping to get a new car in a few months like a 1.6 civic but its not looking great if they are asking for £1000 for a 1.0 corsa which is an insurance group 2 compared with 8 or 9.

shop around, my last insurance company were gona charge £900 for me as main driver on corsa with 0 claims bonus. with current insurance tho i havnt told them ive got standard vauxhall alloys. i dont see why you should have to inform them if its an official vauxhall mod. whos to say i didnt buy the car with the alloys and full GSI kit already on it ???? if i lowerd the car, then of course thats a modification, or re-sprayed the car a different colour, etc.
