I'm 21 and have no licence so no insurance!

And bought a corsa, parked it on the street It has TAX AND MOT

A friend just told me the laws have changed and I cannot now park on the road without insurance!

I don't understand why because I'm not driving it so I physically cannot crash into anyone!

If someone drove into my car surly thats there fault only?

Can anyone help me who knows anything? ASAP??

Thanks

thats a strange one, because you can park it on the road as it has tax and mot,
but i dont how you would go on with it not been insured,
but it would be there fault as its parked,
not 100% but if someone was to run into it i think you would need someone to be insured on it for and kind of claim i think

yeah i dont know myself cant find it on the VOSA or DVLA Website and The Online Forums Just Telling Me Different Stuff!

Just Dont Want Them To Take My Baby! or be stung with the fine ECT!

Trying to find out but it looks like the new law stands as from beginning of 2011

Even If its on private land you have to declare it off the road! :s

The new rule now is unless you are taxed, MOTd and insured, then you have to declare your car as SORN

You can't legally park on the road now without insurance.

The way the law see's it is that 'if your wasn't there (since it shouldn't be) the person that hit you wouldn't have.
Basically if you parked your car on private land where they reckin it belonged then the person that can't drive and hit you usually wouldn't have.

Just another bullshit law showing g'ments lost the plot.
