Post by CorsaEdi »

well i basicly i want to make my corsa 1.2 8v quicker i no i cant make it alot much faster but every little helps so far the car beats all of my friends cars on acceleration they have 1.0 12v, 1.2 clios other 1.2 corsas etc it edges in front of most if not all 1.2 cars round here but i just want a little bit more since i cant upgrade the engine because insurance will have my pants down any ideas anyone? so far performance wise its got cherry bomb back box no center box and de-catted and cone air filter not much i no but just a mention.

strip interior, get straight through exhaust, drilled and derestricted airbox and green panel filter, decent 15" wheels with low profile tyres, you cant really do anything to the engine tbh its not worth it. you can always service it every 6 months or something

you've got the wrong idea there mate :? , yours is a 1.2 and its never gona be fast so dont waste your time, although........ there are lots of ways to make your mates cars alot slower, let there air out there tires, sugar in there petrol, pinch one or two of there spark plugs the list goes on............

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

exhaust, airfilter, chip, but what's the use if you have a 1.2 as base..
My opinion buy a better base and start from there, or put an other engine in it.
The Cars:
Corsa Gsi 94' c20xe Project in progress
Corsa Swing 98' 1.4 8v- girlfriends daily
Renault megane estate 1.5 turbo diesel- daily
Bmw E21 320 4cyl 77' project
Bmw E21 318 4cyl. 76' donor
Bmw E21 315 4cyl 82' project

Corner speed is the key!

well you see i had to get a 1.2 because insurance company's would like to bum the feck out of me if i had a bigger engine but now i have ncb and been driving a bit i can put a bigger engine and that's what i intend to do but all i wanted was for it to be faster than standard.

allright, well if you look at price and HP you better chenge the engine, will cost some but i think less then upgrading this engine.
