Alloy Wheels?
Hi Guys, I know this sounds like a stupid question, but how strict are insurers on alloy wheels, if they are not declared, (e.g. if i crashed my car and it had alloys, and they didnt know, would they pay out?) I really want a set but it bumps my insurance up loads if they are declared!
Also what happens if they are vauxhall alloy wheels, would they be able to prove that they are not what came on the car when i bought it?
Thanks

if you dont declare it ur insurence is void and they wont pay out.
when my broter wrote off his first car his insurence woundnt pay out until he put his standard stereo back in.

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

They could even sue you for fraudulently taking out a false insurance policy.matty101 wrote:if you dont declare it ur insurence is void and they wont pay out.

Re: Alloy Wheels?
I'm 17, and run a 1.2 16v SXi, at a nice round sum of £1800. According to the nice girl at LV, if it's possible that the wheels COULD have been on the car from standard, they won't charge me more. And I found out from my sister-in-law (also works in LV) that if they're official Vauxhall items (ie. from any Vauxhall car) there's no definite ruling on them voiding the insurance, it's down to the appropriate authority (your local police) to use their discretion...
Don't take this as gospel though, it changes from company to company. And "I read it's legal on corsa-b.co.uk, mr officer" doesn't work when you're pulled, on on the busiest road for miles, probably raining, with a car full of drunk friends. you know it
