thing with it is i see it all too often people spend a fortune on modifyin a car, and fair enough if you want to
but then they cant insure it so ether get nicked for having no insurance or have to sell it at a fraction of the cost they spend
why do you think on pistonheads and autotrader theres loads of sorted cars for sale dirt cheap?

cus they cant get them insured
sad but true.

the problem is if you smash in to someone elses car then your insurance refuses to pay out your f**k
its all good and well saying you will drive steady but at the end of the day you cant predict whats going to happen.

If you cannot afford the insurance on a modified car then you shouldn't be driving it. It is as simple as that.

You make it sound like you are hard done by.. you are not. All young drivers have to pay high insurance premiums... 10 years ago I paid over £1200 to insure a Metro worth £500. In todays money, that would be a lot more. The reason your premium is so high is because you are in a very high risk age group.. insurance companies actually pay out more for claims for your age group than they make through premiums.

As has been mentioned, you are currently driving without insurance.. Police are much more wise to this sort of thing, they are now phoning insurance companies to see if modifications are declared.. if they are not declared they seize the car.. if you cannot provide evidence that the car is preoperly covered (ie mods declared) within a week or so then they will crush the car.

Sort yourself out and insure your car properly.

id declare everything you have done to the car or thats been done to it
bodykit especialy,
might cost higher insurance but look on the bright side if you smash it atleast you know you will get payed out for the mods too.
if you cant get insurance your best bet is to buy another car keep your modified motor as a show car

or sell it and buy somthing cheaper to insure, start back with modifiying when you got some no clames under your belt or wen you can afford the insurance

im not saying you shouldnt have a modified car but think about it can you afford to insure it?

Just an idea, buy a real cheap car, and insure it (I suggest some Fiat Centequento or w/e), use that for a bit, and leave your modified corsa on the drive. You dont need insurance or road tax on it, as long as it is off the road. But it is your call.
