Average insurance price for 17 year old....

Hi everyone,,

I was just wondering what the average insurance price is for the average 17 year old? Like no convictions etc...

I know that it depends on the car and area etc but there must be an average price for insurance...

I believe it is £2000 as my brother was quoted... and reading on these forums it is about the same, but if someone could confirm this, we would be very appriciative.

Thanks ,

£2000 fully comp for ur own policy sounds bout right mate. if u want cheaper go on ur parents policy for a couple years. i stayed on my old dears for 2 years and it cost £250 p.a now and still droppin! admitidly it will be bout £800-£900 once i get my own at 21 but still a good way to get cheaper insurance. Just have to pay cash if u have crashes to protect ur no claims lol

Been looking into this lately. The cheapest quote i got was £940 from ibuyeco that was fully comp with an excess of £100 8) That's with my mum on the cover as well  If I were to take out my own policy I would be looking at 2k easy :o

Yeahh, I will mate, nice one.

And Matt, yeah but it works out cheaper if he was on his own policy, rather then on me dads. Dodgy eh?

few tips on saving £££ on your insurance
first off for a corsa b id only go tpft, no point in fully comping it,
as lets be honest u smash ur car up it wud be cheaper to just buy another one.
have a car with a small engine, sounds silly but again lets be honest your not gunna be racing your corsa agaisnt a veyron so why have a large engine? even with loads n loads of expensive mods it still isnt going to be as fast as a M3 is it?
drive it less, the less miles you do the less likely you are to have an accdent, most people when asked for milage will say 10k a year,
but think do you actualy do 10k a year? i had my car 2 years and havnt put 15k on it yet!
set you exess really high, there isnt much you can damage a corsa with that will cause £500 worth of damage,
ether buy a new one or fix it yourself that way you dont have to claim on insurance
fit an alarm, if it dosnt have one, and make a point in telling you insurer your car is alarmed
park it off-road, this brought my last years insurance down from £650 to £550.

For my 1.0 12v Club i got a range from 1,900 to - 3,000 fully com, But i put my spolier on and it went up £300
But if i crash/smash up the back end they dont pay out for it so whats the deal?

Cor blimey mate, that sounds dodgy... what if someone hits you from the back? Lets say your at a set of lights and a plonka in a Clio hits ya up the arse?
