Finally had a productive Sunday :D

Before: Image

After: Image

Eyed up my custom mount and it seems to be a good fit but wont know until I go to fit the Saab lump.
Engine came out pretty easy. I couldn't remove the drives from gearbox so they came out with the engine which was probably the only tricky bit.

[emoji57][emoji57][emoji57][emoji57] heyyyy nice one buddy that's it now no going back haha, see with the custom engine mount is this the one for the drivers side because I've been told once you have an f20 box on the Saab lump you only need the driver side engine mount??

Also bud I know it's maybe a pain for you but are you gonna post pics of where stuff like the engine mount goes and where you strengthen your chassis because that would be massively helpful for when I come to do mine haha [emoji4]

Can't wait to see it In mate [emoji106]

Yeah its a drivers side mount. I will post pics of it and where it goes if i remember, im not good at taking pics as once I get started I forget to take a break lol. I will PM you with a link to the lads ebay that makes the mounts. If you have a type 2 shell its bolt in no mods needed (I hope [emoji14] )
I wont be strengthening the chassis yet or ecen changing brakes as I want to make sure I can get it running first. The only day I have off work is sundays and this close to xmas dont think I will have many sundays free :(

so monday night I spent a while at the Corsa. here is the custom mount:
chassis side

engine side

whoever says this engine fits easy is lying haha. Had to remove gearbox, manifold w/turbo and power steering pump. I even thought about cutting out the slam panel and welding it back in haha.

Engine has to come back out so I can hammer back a bit of the chassis leg as the crank pulley is fouling and I cant bolt the custom mount in fully.

Awesome man nice one [emoji106] seeing some progress now bud. Is the custom engine mount no problem to fit just goes in where the old mount was?? Also take it the gearbox mounts are just the original ones are they mate??

Can't wait to see it running bud [emoji106]

Yeah direct bolt on. Think I need a 15mm spacer for my rear mount and the side g/box mount should be bolt on. Haven't fitted the g/box yet as engine needs to come back out to hammer back part of the chassis leg. The engine would have fitted alot easier if I could have taken the intake mani off but I dont think there would be enough room to get it back on when fitted haha

I highly doubt I will get a chance to touch the car again this side of xmas :(

Couldn't help myself. Just been out at the Corsa and knocked the cassis leg back abit for crank pulley clearance, fitted the f20 and got the two side mounts lined up. Still have to sort the rear mount but I have a plan for that.
Some pics of the mounts and crank pulley clearance:

When fitting the gearbox I managed to bend one of the pressure plate fingers outwards (towards gearbox). I forgot to take a picture. Will it be a problem? I would assume it will :(

It shouldn't be even if it's a bit loose sitting in the fingers it shouldn't be enough to stop the clutch engaging, if it is a big pair of vice grips if you can get hold of them will sort it

I'd test fit the adjuster and see how it sits, is it bent much?

Its bent about 3-4cm if I remember correctly. Its bent out towards the release bearing. I tried to push it back but it just spung back to where it was lol. The shaft of the gearbox was obviously resting on it and I must have either raised the engine or lowered the gearbox. The bay is so tight I had to drop the ARB to fit the gearbox [emoji14] you wouldn't have a clutch or drives and hubs to fit would ya?
