Direct Line insurane

Post by sassnowwolf »

Well as stated in the thread title im covered by Diect Line at 1400 a year. Ive been driving since march and i have a 1.0 corsa b gls v reg. Now i paid it all in a lump sum so i didn't have to bother paying monthly for my first year. (Too much of a hassle). Now i just bought some 14 inch standavauxhall alloys, which im assuming came off an old astra.

I assumed they would not up my insurance because they are standard vaux alloys, however when i rang up t ask them they stated 'We do not insure any external modifications to drivers aged between 18 and 25, this includes the alloy wheels'

So ive now got some vaux alloys i cant use, and also a gsi spoiler i was going to put on my car.

What i want to know is, will they know if i have added the spoiler if i still use it? and also is there any way i can cancel my insurance and get the remaining money back? as i want to modify my corsa but obvsiouly cant under policy with direct line.

Cheers.

Yes you can cancel your insurance and get the remainer of your money back but there is usually a cancellation fee involved, check your policy details under cancellation.

Re the spoiler they can find out easily enough as the spoiler only came on certain models, its up to you whether you take the risk! :)

would just bare in mind if you do modify it and dont declare it on your insurence its void and ur f**k if u have a crash.
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

yeh go compare of confused are good. i personally found swiftcover to be cheap and they allow basic mods such as stereo and alloys but they still won't cover exterior mods such as spoilers or bodykits
