thanks for comments guys.

strips are not hard to take off they are just cliped in.

the clips are right smack in the middle of strips front to back so doesnt usualy scratch paint work.

if you pri the front up 1st and get that one off and squert wd40 down underneith the strip and then work you way back should be ok.

then before you put back on i coverd the clips in copper greece to avoid rusting and also made it very easy when putting back on 'just pushed back into place' plus if i need to take them off again should be quite easy.

more progress today fitted new sump and gasket new pollen filter and refited skuttle pannle oo and also heated it up to bring it back to colour.

also mat blacked the bottom splitter which is looking good.

i had been driving the car for a couple of months then it starting leaking oil from the rear main and there was a groove in the crank so engine had to come out.

finished building new engine last night. also doing a full gm power steering convertion at the same time. need pics though.
