Driver door lock.

Post by Spikey »

Hi guys, newbie here.....

OK, Stinky, my '96 plate 1.4 Corsa has decided to rotate it's drivers side door lock 90°so it'll lock with the key, but not open :meh:

Having to use the central locking from passenger side to get in whilst not a major pain, is somewhat annoying, and I've been told a possible MOT fail.

So, good people, how would I go about fixing this?

I have the Haynes book of lies, some spanners, and a very large hammer!

Cheers :)

Spray some wd40 into the lock and try open it, it's more than likely just a stuck pin
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Did the car have dead locking. If so item 11, 12 and 17 are the culprits. 11 is usually at fault. About £5 from autovaux. Afraid it's strip the door down time.Image
