maximum wheel spacer size?

I have just put some 16" alloys on and the back tyres rub on a bracket by the suspension. I fitted some 10mm spacers but the hub looks like it's only just about resting in the wheel by a few mm (just an educated guess as I can't see it properly)

Are the spacers too big? I'm worried about the weight resting on the edge of the hole in the centre of the wheel. Does anyone know what the biggest size spacer that is safe?

What's the offset on the alloys? The smaller the offset the bigger the spacer that's need to get the "right" fit

The offset will be stamped on the back of the wheel it'll be ET then the number, the corsa is ET49 so your spacer needs to get you close to that, what width are the alloys?

Crap, I have no idea of either. the tyres are 205/50/16 if that's any help. Ill take a wheel off tomorrow to see what it says

They were originally on a Vauxhall but not sure what model

Can you upload a picture of them? If there standard vauxhall wheels they'll be et49

You might want to try smaller tyres aswell

Yeah they are Vauxhall wheels. The tyres have 6mm tread left so I won't be changing them any time soon. I have ordered 5mm spacers and some new bolts all round. Hoping they will be delivered tomorrow

They bolt direct to hubs
They have a lip on them to let the wheel sit on and use studs to mount the wheel
