Daytime Styling Lights

Post by Lacey_Corsa »

Hey all

just been having a look at a set of these i have found for 3 quid in a reduced bin in halfords (!!!) and was wondering if it was possible to fit them directly to the battery with an inline fuse and a switch inside the car so i still have full use of the sidelights etc when driving

they are 12v ones of curse. 2 of them with 9 LED's in each with a + and - wire from each

never really done it before so was wondering if anyone had an idea on how to wire them really

done a bit of googling and found this

each led strip has a + (12V) and a - (Ground) wire from it

i can wire the + (12V) wires from each light strip directly to the battery + with an inline on/off switch inbetween mounted wherever in the car
the - (ground wires) can be placed anywhere on the car bodywork for grounding or another ground wire somewhere

will this method need a fuse inline at all?

well a fuse just protects it really, but you dont have to install a fuse, i dont always install a fuse when i wire things up.

well a fuse holder and a good compatible fuse is looking around £2...they only cost 3 themselves so i dont think il bother.

if they dont work its no big deal....just a cheap little mod i thought

you could just use a normal blade fuse and push a couple of clips onto the arms of the blade fuse then wrap in black tape it'l do the same thing, thats if you want to fuse it.

all fitted nicely!

just needed a bit more wire to extend from the internal switch and it was all good from there!

will get pics up as soon as we get a bit of darkness!
