Then i decided it was time to start buying a few bits for it. Want to get the engine running with all the new stuff on it and get the wiring tidy'd up before it comes out to get cleaned an painted.

New bits so far, Still got clutch to get. Need to find out if i can get a lightened/balanced flywheel for it. Water pump,Timing belt etc.

Just want the car to be clean and rust free. Nothing inside except front seats and the whole car resprayed outside/inside and engine.

Try to get the little 1.6 to a reasonable power without transplants.

Cheers for te good words mate.

Well time for a wee update,Managed to make a start to it last weekend.

Got most of the battery tray removed with the help of thr trusty grinder, The battery is now relocated. Tidy'd up some of the wiring, Got the exhaust manifold on an already its turning a nice gold colour and just gave the engine bay a little clean up.

This weekend i think al try outting the power box onto the car, Once i get that on and get the oil catch tank sitting where i want it then al start taking the engine out.

Some pics.....

Just a quick question for you guys, How heavy is a corsa's steering on the non power steering models?

Mines has got power steering but was thinking bout taking it off the car, Less weight and less clutter under the bonnet. Less power takin from the engine. Do you think i Should take it out or leave the power steering in it?

Cheers guys

i know someone without it and its a bit of a pain when driving in a city or parking. not sure how much of a difference it would make with the speed side of things

could put in electric power steering. wouldnt have clutter in engine bay then, but its not an easy conversion to do and not cheap either
