Upgrading Keys to key with torch

Post by diggerhole »

As you know I hate an asterisk in the handbook. Image
So how do you change standard s type keys to ones with a torch.
S type keys where used right up to 2012 so parts are avalable how ever many dealers will only sell you minimum order 5. Not a problem. The bits are pence.
First order these items

Then you need batteries and bulbs.
Most dealers don't stock the batteries and bulbs but ebay is the place.

Take the key off and using a small screwdriver at the back open the key making sure you don't loose the immobiliser chip.

Assemble the parts and clip back together, careful not to drop bits.

Press the button and celebrate having the world's weakest torch.

I've got this option on my keys already, but the little light bit fell out when I dropped my keys and someone had pulled the rubbery bit off :(
