display/clock problem

display/clock problem

hi, i have i opel corsa b and a strange problem with the display clock/temp.

when i turn on the car it doesen't works, the display looks dead, but if i push with a finger the plastic against the lcd it works, but if i turn on the light it works just fine...all appears 8) ....

any suggestion? :(

ps sorry about my english, i'm not from uk, but since this looks like one of the best forum for this kind of cars :D

Hello and welcome :) mine does exactly the same. Always had problems with it from the start! I think it is broken and needs to be replaced, not 100% sure though :)

Q. My TID only lights up when the headlights are on, or whilst im driving it flickers on and off.
A. Another simple one. Simply remove/cut/disconnect wire 7 - GREY/BLACK - Illumination wire. This will keep the TID lit up as long as the ignition is on

This is the connection with pin locations

If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway :thumbs:

my clock and temp stay on all the time even with radio on.

That's whats ment to be but different headunits have different effects

thanks for the info, so today i try this , but i get the opposit result :lol: i mean, i cut the wire, than when i turn on the engine the clock was on but if i turn on the light the clock goes off.... :?

i think it's a different elettric scheme :(
