The law and drive ways

Post by Barraclough »

So does the law saw you cant block a drive way/entrance to a property?
Recently had some idiot in a Corsa C blocking my drive way on a daily basis. I'm not parking on it at the moment it's the principle, my partners disabled dad had to park some distance away and walk it yesterday.
My first plan was to wait and go out to them and tell them to move but never there when they park up.
My next plan is if it is in the Highway Code, to dig mine out, rip the page out and circle it and leave it on the car.
The ironic part is one of the people in the house is a driving instructor!

If the pavement has been lowered then it's a drive and to be kept clear
If it's not been then you don't have a leg to stand on

Its not an offence to park across a dropped kerb if the drive is empty, preventing you to park.
It is if you are parked and can't get out.

The law and drive ways

Iv dug my Highway Code out and it says do not park infront of an entrance of a property. All the time not only if there's a car on it. How would the person know if there's a car in say a garage.

And if you go to the shop and someone parks in front of your now empty driveway when you arrive back in 5 mins you now can't enter your driveway

They are blocking your property so surely just because it was empty it's legal?
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Just do the badger tyres or pull the thing out the way. Some people just have no O_o respect and doing that is just taking the mick!

I put the wheelie bin in the spot they've been parking on Tuesday. Think they've got the hint as they've not parked there since.
