The sportex ones seem to be quite popular of you remove the centre box and put a straight pipe on (race tube) you get a rasp from that and then a sportex back box that gives you the deep note

Sportex all the way. Think I paid £160 for a sportex backbox with race tube. Well worth every penny. A little on the loud side to.

I had the 3 inch round tip
Image
That's the best pic I have with a standard bumper
Image
It sits perfect with an irmscher rear bumper

This is also exactly what mine sounded like
1.2 16v sportex

Starts at about 1.30 and at around the 3 min mark you hear it popping at the down shift

If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Johnny lad that sound awesome I'm assuming that's with a race tube, I've been looking in eBay and there's like 3 different types of centre sections you can get but it all says they are straight through so what's the difference between these mate

First is what I have and in the vid yeah, second looks like a standard middle with a straight through baffled back box it's what I had first sounds nice when reving 3k+
Thrid is a straight through baffled mid and rear box which will give the best of both , it'll be loud and may pop but still sort of subtle I've never had one so can't say for sure what it'd be like but it's probably the best choice

They do a decent selection of tips, http://www.sportexexhausts.com/Performa ... roduct/453

Any smaller than 2.5 and you'd be aswell getting the Hoffman race tube and slash cut standard rear box

Email sportex and tell them what you want and they'll sort it out for you
