How to change Fuel filter on Corsa B.

Post by liopik »

Hi.
I decided to change the fuel filter on my Corsa B 1998, 1.4.
I found it next to fuel tank. But in the Haynes manual it says that I need to depresurise the fuel sistem first. But I don't realy understand how to do that. Is that ok if pull the fuel filter off and put the new one instead? Is that a rocket science?
I took a picture of the fuel filter, but cannot upload it, 2mb restriction on this forum, plus no JPG format(???!!!).
Image
Thank you.

We don't host pictures anymore as they just slow down the site so you have to host them with the likes of photobucket and copy the Image

And yes you just unscrew that screw and it's clipped on so you need a small screwdriver or similar and just press in each side and they pop off
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Oh, thank you.
And what about fuel pressure? The last thing I want is to see myself sprayed with petrol :)

Unscrew the filler cap to let any vapour out if your worried but I personally don't bother

Just make sure the engine has been turned off for a while. You will get a little petrol sprayed out, so I recommend finishing your Marlboro and putting it well out before you start the job. :D
