Corsa B plasma dials fitting/wiring

Post by WA17ER »

Hi guys,

Ive been lucky enough to get hold of a set of plasma dials for my Corsa, these ones:Image

Does anybody know on how to go about wiring these in and fitting them? I know how to swap dials as I've done two sets before, but I know these are backlit.

If anybodys fitted these before and can let is know how to fit them? I would be very grateful!

Many thanks......
Cal Walker

Look good mate, would love a set of these for myself. Pretty sure someone on here will be able to tell you about fitting them. How much you pay?

Apparently, you put them in like the old dials and use a live off the headlight switch to power the lights.

Cheers guys

Found them on ebay (been searching for ages!) always liked how bright and crisp they are, gonna paint the needles in UV fluorescent red paint so they really pop when I've got the lights on.

I'll see if anybody writes on here who has fitted them, but in the meantime I'll have to consult Google! Lol

Cheers......

Should be just a red and black wire, red goes to sidelights or another switched ignition live, but depending on what you splice into will affect when there on, ie if you splice the radio switch wire and turn the radio off at night the speedo will go out, if you have a multi meter you can find the sidelight switch wire easily

Black just goes to ground, there a proper earth point behind the fuse box buts it's abit awkward to get at but there's plenty of ground wires there to splice into

Its a 10 min job if you know what wires straight away but take 20 mins to check and double check you have the right wires :)

I'll check wiring diagrams to find the wire colours if i get a chance in the morning :)
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Ah wicked, cheers johnny!

Think I'll definitely go for wiring them
into the side lights, that seems like the most sensible option, stupid question I know but I take it they'll still be illuminated when the lights are on dipped and main beam?

Many thanks.....

Yeah your side lights stay on even with dipped and heads on :)

There's a green/gray wire behind the headlight switch which will be handy to get at for the switch wire
Image there's two though so make sure you splice the thicker one pictured

There's also a solid black ground wire behind the headlight switch that you can use :)

Cheers for the photos Johnny!

Any chance you could point out the solid black wire to earth too mate? (just so I know what I'm looking for straight away)

I hopefully should get them tomorrow through the post. Is there anyway I can test them to see if they work? ie: put the live and earth on a 12v car battery and see if they light up? or would this make the dials go pop!? lol. Last thing I want to do id fit them and they don't work.

Regards.....

In that picture on the bottom row it's the third pin from the right, it's the only soild black in the connection so you can't go wrong :)

You can put it across the battery but only when the cars off so it's only 11 volts and not 14
